A train trip

We left Seattle this morning in the pouring rain and went to the lovely old train station in King Street where we caught the "cascades" train up to Vancouver. A lovely, lovely train ride which, for most part, ran along next to the sea, firstly Puget Sound and then the Pacific ocean. The tide was out for most of the way, and that and the fact that it was an overcast day gave a pearlescent effect to scenes we were passing.
4 hours later we are in Vancouver where we will stay for two nights.
