Do you really want to yurt me

Volunteering Mondays are now a series of heritage walks for the next few weeks. Today we were at the Sustainability Centre, a place I’ve always known about, and even cycled past, but never visited.

We were given a guided tour, which was really interesting. The site covers 55 acres and is in a beautiful, wooded hillside setting in the South Downs National Park. Our tour included the woodland burial site where more 2000 people are buried. A funeral was going on while we were there actually and I felt a bit sad for the mourners that it was such a cold and damp day.

They also have yurts for hire. Pictured is one of the small ones, which was locked. We did get to see inside a larger one, though, which looked really comfortable with a double bed and wood burner, etc. A nice setting too.
