Sophie's First Day At School

We went down to Kate & Sophie's early this morning so we could walk to school with them on Sophie's first day. Here she is looking equally self-conscious and proud in her new uniform with a photo of her younger self behind her for comparison.

She couldn't wait to get there and went running up the road ahead of us. When Kate took her in to the classroom she dismissed her with a cheery " 'Bye, Mum!". Kate & Tess were far less blasé about the whole process!

For the first week, they only go in for half of the day so we picked her up again at 11.30. Kate was allowed to slip out of school as well and we were all relieved when she came out and declared her morning to have been "awesome".

We overheard at least three other sets of parents ask their child, with fingers crossed, "So, you think you'll go back again tomorrow?" They all said yes.

For the rest of the day she's been happy to play with her toys or board games, which was just as well given the miserable weather.

It's the first night of a new Keep Fat year; be grateful that Sophie has spared you a blip of me in my Keep Fat gear!
