Potatoes - Complete with garden soil

I did not feel very energetic at 0700 hours this morning so I decided I would have a lie in and a lazy day. While I was deciding whether to wash my hair I checked my phone and saw that my daughter had invited me to go to the gym with her. Seventeen minutes from reading the message I was in the railway station car park waiting to be picked up. I did not wash my hair at that time!

Once home I dug up the potatoes, which are today’s picture, complete with garden soil. Not many you might think, but some while ago whilst in Scotsdales Garden Centre, they were giving away potato tubers. They were going soft, sprouting and it was far to late to plant them. I had ten tubers and nine grew, four of these did not produce very much, but the other five, a different variety produced more than I expected. Free potatoes, except for a little of my time.

A lazy afternoon, catching up with craft work and choosing another book or two to read on my Kindle. I need something that does not take a lot of effort to read for when I am waiting in Addenbrookes on Friday.

The temperature at GMT noon today was fifteen degrees Celsius. The temperature blanket is now heading towards green and blue, hopefully there will be some more “yellow” days, but I fear the orange and red days will not reappear, until next year. We have snow and then Snowdrops to look forward to as well as that well known holiday, which many folk think it is far to early to mention!
