Food Glorious Food

The overnight on the marina worked a treat, well apart from the camper that parked so close to me that I had to walk sideways to open my door. Otherwise it worked well. The sun made an appearance on my walk (see extra).
A cuppa and scone at Organico before heading to Skibbereen for the market and to meet my partner in crime. So a Galette and chick pea muffin (surprisingly yummy) with Red Strand coffee for elevenses. I bought a few veg plants for overwintering at the allotment.
On then to the big event of the day, a workshop on fermentation. A happy few hours chopping, mixing, tasting and packing away treats to bring home;
Smoked Paprika Saurkraut
Zesty broccoli stems
Indian spiced lacto-fermented cauliflower
Tomato Salsa

A wander around Skib then before moving on to Leap.
Staying at The Meadows campsite, an old favourite of our, in Glandore. A spin on the bikes for a quick drink in the roasting sun before continuing on to Connolly’s of Keap for an evening of ‘Mediterranean meets Middle East’. 5 courses, each one tastier than the last. Only the absence of live music was a disappointment.
Taxi home. Let’s hope the bikes are still there in the morning.
