Barbakan Deli
Met sis today.........drove over in the pouring rain, amazing how some people just cant drive when its wet isnt it?!!!
Anyhow made it over in one piece.....sis was ready so we headed straight across Manchester to Chorlton cum Hardy, as we decided to go shopping in the Unicorn, which is like a large market garden, with great produce, herbs & spices, then onto the Barbakan Deli, for bread, amongst other things.
We treated ourselves to a bacon & tomato barm and a lovely coffee/tea. We sat indoors to eat it, and watched this guy through the window, on their covered veranda cooking the garlic & thyme fried potatoes, fried onions to go with a choice of spanish, italian, german or polish sausage in a rather large warmed sub roll........ the punters queued patiently whilst he got to work, it smelled amazing!!
We felt like we were in another country, there was a fab atmosphere, and its obviously very good, its so popular!!
After lunch we walked up the road to Out of the Blue, which is a fabulous fresh fish shop.
Between us we spent over £70 on haddock, prawns, sea bass, sardines, plaice and tuna :-D
I had seabass this evening, hub had sardines and sis had haddock....all beautiful! You cant beat fresh fish mho ;-)
I had my hair cut & coloured later then had a tedious early evening drive home that took almost an hour and a half :-/
We dont have any plans this weekend......first time in a while!
