Neural network?

Nope - it's the beech tree in my garden caught by a rare short blast of morning sun (now departed). The little flash of "nerve activity" on the perimeter is a little bird, which I didn't realise was there at the time. Amazing how all natural patterns in Nature repeat themselves in totally different locations, the only differences being scale and materials.

Just realised it's World Book Day, at least here in the UK. What are everyone's favourite authors? Mine are Paulo Coelho for his inspirational writing, Alexander McCall Smith for his humour, social observation and wonderful style, and the late great Douglas Adams for his use of language and total glorious wackiness.
