My little bit of heather
For several years past I have aimed to get to the Dark Peak (in the Peak District) to photograph the heather in bloom on the moors. Today was no exception. The heather has gone over.
But Basil and I had a breezy walk on the edge of the Burbage Valley. We could have gone further if only I had bothered to take my walking stick out of the boot.
As you can see from the photo, there are still one or two patches of heather in bloom.
I have to say that I haven't been feeling in the best of sorts this month to take trips out on my own.
Google took me through the outskirts of Sheffield to reach the moors. What I saw of Sheffield was inspiring and genteel. I expect the old steelworks were over to the east.
