Diary of an Edinburgher

Lunch in town

Archie had a great day - TWO big walks. Out in the morning to the Meadows with Kerri and Luke, then out again all after with Elizabeth. What a life that dog has!

JR had a slow start this morning - a 10am visit to the gym instead of 9am class. I did my cycling and leg work (which sounds better than it actually is).

We decided to go into town for lunch. We found The West Room, which is another establishment owned by the people who do the Seafood Restaurant in St Andrews.

And very good it was too - we got lots of sharing dishes, including divine tiger prawns and tasty bruschettas. The music, too, was fine - nothing screechy, just low key, good sound system, and I even recognised a few tunes.

We popped into the cafe next door for a coffee and a scrumptious cake. AND my bus is just across the road, so I was very happy just to hop on it and come home in time to catch the second half of the Ireland/Wales rugby match. JR, as is her wont, had a wee dander through town.

It being a Saturday night and nothing on TV, I had a search of All4 and was reminded of 'Walter Presents' which is the most amazing (free!) collection of foreign language box sets. We're now watching a series about some Danish ex-pats in Tanzania. It looks promising.

A good day all round.
