Orchid

What a miserable morning ..... windy and very, very wet. 

I didn't fancy driving back to Glasgow in those conditions so I took a detour and went to glasshouses in the St Andrews Botanic Gardens where I knew it would be dry.

A pot of tea, a chocolate brownie and I was ready for a rather damp walk to glasshouses. For the summer (!) one has been turned into a very hot home for tropical butterflies. I'm not too keen on huge butterflies flying round my head but I decided to have a visit. As it's late in the season quite a number were looking rather tattered and unlike our Painted Ladies these exotic butterflies don't pose for a photo!
