Victoria Crowned Pigeon

This is the largest pigeon species in the world and I have to say that it is much more attractive than the pigeons that regularly sit on my shed roof.

L and I had booked a visit to Edinburgh Zoo for today not realising it was a bank holiday. It was busier that we expected but there was more than enough space for everyone and the numbers were limited.

It was a warm day, not much sun and no wind so it was a good day for wandering round and struggling up the hills ...  Edinburgh Zoo is certainly not flat.

The Meerkats are always worth watching as are the penguins which are most definitely my favourite.
