New things

This morning started well, with room service delivered on a tray!! We missed Steve last night though. And slept in, too...

Steve had a 'phone interview this morning with a company in China, who now want to see him in person before the end of the month. And he has some super-strength antibiotics to blast the sinusitus away. Going to need some serious probiotics after that course I think :-/

Our date for the day was the aviation park at Manchester Airport with sweet_dusty_bones. We were supposed to meet up about midday-ish for butties before watching the planes but we barely made it out of the house by then. Dad has put me on his car insurance so I can get out with the boys so we took his car and made it in one piece eventually! Ben and Boo chased each other through puddles, Bash left a huge mess of scone crumbs in the cafe, Ben got me to let them have a go on the Penny Press (I did have a brief moment of wonder as to how they knew it was called a Penny Press), and as we walked back to the cars Ben and Boo declared we were going to their house so we did!

Where Charley slept, Ben and Boo transformed into Batmen and played Bat games upstairs. When Charley woke, a box of colour bottles was produced and after tears as to who was to play with the blue bottle the craft station was set up and two more blue bottles were created.

A new thing to add to Ben's quiet activity list is "snipping" - paper, card, ribbon or wool, plus a tray and some scissors, and preferably a bottle or some card and glue. He snipped blue wool for almost half an hour. Pure concentration. Whoever thinks all kids have short concentration spans needs to look again at what they're asking kids to do! It was amazing. And Charley was equally engrossed in painting, feeling the paint with his fingers, tasting it, seeing if it made a good hair treatment... and when he was cleaned up and set back down on the floor he took advantage of me trying to clean the table and made off with two biscuits from the monkey platter!

Ben came home with a blue knight which will have to be returned at some point though......

Happy days!
