Day 7 Šibenik to Split

. As it’s It's getting hotter and to save us having to cycle in the very hot afternoon sun we got up early and were on the road before 8. 46 miles today, the first half of which was uphill to about 1200ft. 32 miles of lovely quiet mountain roads ending with us losing all 1200ft in 5 miles - amazing! We saw a flock of sheep who were crossing a bridge, there didn’t seem to be anyone with them, but they knew where they were going. See extra taken by Mr PB. We then had 12 miles of flat busy coast road in to Split. The first half was so lovely despite being hard in places.

Our apartment is palatial, the best yet and they left the aircon on. We showered, did our laundry and hung it out to dry on the washing line off the balcony. A bit scary but I pegged everything really well.

We spent the afternoon looking round the Diocletion's Palace, a Roman fort which makes up half the old town and is a UNESCO heritage site. I was interested that Robert Adams had been here in 1757 to study the architecture. We walked up on to the walls of the of some of the palace. An amazing circular structure. I have put the second extra of what would have been my Blip but when we returned in the evening I saw these two outside the palace gates. I could not resist!

Stupidly early ferry to Hvar tomorrow to try and beat the 33 degree heat.
