Today's blip has been prorogued .... in the interests of greater democracy, as I am sure you will understand.
I suppose you could see this as just a reference to Maleivich's famous Black Square which in itself was a symbolic of what was then revolutionary abstract art.
But that would be a mistake.
It is instead symbolic of the suppression of debate on a matter of extraordinary national importance. Whatever the rights and wrongs of Brexit, and whichever side you support, suppressing debate can only further reinforce the polarisation of British politics that has been taking place over the last 3 years.
... which, if you stop to think about it and can get past your tribal allegiances for a second, is unlikely to end well for any of us, whichever side we might be on.
