Tree Bumblebee
Tiny Tuesday: Tree Bumblebee
I am not sure if this Bumblebee will be allowed to remain in the UK after the 31 October ;-)
This big fella is a Bombus Hypnorum or Tree Bumblee. The Tree Bumblebee was first recorded in this country in 2001 and then rapidly spread north and is doing rather well in the UK - its quite common I believe. Apparently they are particularly fond of raspberries which could well be why it was visiting tonight, as our raspberries have been doing particularly well this year.
