Powering with the tide

In Orkney to support ministers as they hold one of their summer cabinets and public discussions in Kirkwall. Yesterday, the deputy first minister unveiled the four teams vying for the £10m Saltire Prize for marine energy and today she announced new funds to help leverage private investment into a further five wave & tidal technologies in Scotland. One of them is Scotrenewables Tidal Power, who took us out to see their prototype (pictured here) in Kirkwall harbour.
This is a great part of my job, meeting so many talented, visionary and - above all else - motivated people working in this pioneering energy sector in Scotland.
