Hollyhock House
We visited Frank Lloyd Wright's Hollyhock House on our way from San Luis Obispo to San Diego. This recently added UNESCO World Heritage Site was his first commission in California. Its design was based on Mayan temples which was very evident as we toured the exterior. The only downside to this remarkable piece of architecture was that no photos were allowed inside and the exterior was surrounded by a fence limiting vantage points.
