My little Orangutan.

This is the start of a new project for me, a Pinus Petula or orangutan pine because it's drooping form looks like the arms of an orangutan.

My intention is to shape it into a wind blown, uneven shape in the style of the Japanese art of Niwaki.

We have had a fantastic bank holiday visiting Architectural Plants, a specialist tree and exotic plant nursery, bought the pine, had a very nice lunch then visited Arundel in the bright sunshine.

It was the last day of Arundel festival and there were many visitors, lots of art, classic American cars and performances in the centre of town.

Back to work tomorrow isn't quite as much to look forward to after a great weekend.
