Diary of an Edinburgher

Shopping!

Our pal Mary from the gym popped round after her session and we went to the cafe for coffee and scones. Mary is in her 80s, but comes to the gym twice a week for her exercises. The staff really look after her there, and give her personal attention - even a cuppa and a biscuit half way!

We then took Archie up the hill and he ran down from the top to meet me on the bench. That tires him out, so he's happy to be left at home with his bone. I needed to go shopping. I don’t often say that...

I decided I needed new jeans. The ones I have are either very very faded (not a good look on an old biddie), or have paint on them, and most of them look like bell-bottoms these days. So JR and I popped down to M&S, something that doesn’t happen very often.

As luck would have it, it tried on a few and found a pair that fitted fine. Bingo! I was in and out of the shop in record time.

Town was mobbed, of course. We popped in to Pret for a coffee, as it's right by our bus stop. Two buses came at once. Lots of barriers up for tonight's fireworks.

I'm now sorting out clothes for the charity shop - two big bags full (bag fulls?) already.

Another super day, but I fear that's our lot for the time being. So glad the fireworks will have a warm, still evening for the show. The big wheel looked a bit unloved - hardly any folk on it. Possibly because it costs a fortune for about a two minute ride.
