Impressions of butterflies

Got my haircut this morning. My favourite barbers. Not only do they charge the modest fee of £6.50 (old geezer price) but they are open on Sundays which to an  agnostic like me seems a very civilised day of the week to have a haircut. They call themselves Turkish barbers but they are actually Kurdish. I think it's less complicated to use the label 'Turkish'.
The rest of the day was a lazy day. I did dead head the hibiscus so I can claim to have done something. Even today's blip is a lazy one. It's a butterfly on the verbena which was my blip subject less than a week ago. It's a different butterfly - just. I don't know what this one is but I believe the last one I photographed was a tortoiseshell (as I understand it they can be identified by the blue edging on their wings). I love photographing butterflies. They always seem to pick the best light. And like Hollywood actresses they seem to have a knack of presenting themselves to the lens unless they think you're paparazzi, in that case you'll never catch them. The extra is the same butterfly on the same plant. Some purists may say this is a bad photo but I like it, think of it as impressionist. As Monet would have said, it's all about the light. All right I'm no Monet but even he had to start somewhere. You know Monet painted more than 30 versions of Rouen cathedral. Maybe I should get down to Ely more often ........ ;-)
