Meet Jakob ( worth breaking a rule for )
The images are not mine .Merely taken by myself from pictures on the wall.I think you can see why .A wonderful corvid .This hospital was built over 100 years ago for the treatment of the dreaded TB . Patients were here 3 years & minus visitors .They asked for pets and were in some cases given birds .If any bird died it was given a special burial in the Birds Graveyard ( See extra ) In 1955 one patient found an injured crow with a broken leg .He helped it. Jakob ( the bird ) although free to go stayed and visited all bringing happiness .Own drinking bowl and food dish was used .For many months Jakob merely walked and hopped but in the autumn started to fly . At that time hunters were shooting crows and other birds and Jakob was killed .He has a place in the graveyard .
I know how avian therapy helps and feel strongly about the shooting of any birds etc .Crows such as Jakob helped me 3 years ago when my spine was fractured . Nature is a great friend and healer .
