New Year flag ceremony at Allanton Peace Sanctuary. All the countries are named and peace hoped for in all of them. Then their flags are placed around the peace pole.
After that, we walked around the labyrinth outside and reflected on years past and the year ahead, before going back inside for a cup of tea.
My first proper cycle of 2013, the weather mild and dry. It is about 7 miles to Allanton from our house, and most of that is uphill (nice on the way home except that I was wary of hitting a pothole in the dark, so I resisted the temptation to whizz back down).
