The Tart.

Quick blip as I am in the middle of preparing dinner for sister and brother-in-law.

This is the pear,mincemeat and almond tart (which I mentioned yesterday), just out of the oven.
(Can't show you the whisky ice cream as it is still in the freezer!)

We are having champagne and nibbles to start.

Main course game pie, with potato and celeriac mash, gratin of leeks, and buttered cabbage( please note all grown locally! except the game, some came from Norfolk, and some from North Yorkshire!)
We have a nice bottle of red wine from Rasteau ( France, Southern Rhone)
one of the few bottles we have left from holidays! Should go well with the game.

Cheese and biscuits.

The tart and ice cream.

Coffee and christmas cake. (if we have any room!)

Another rest day tomorrow I think!
