Sally Mair - Loving life

Temple?

Remarkable scaffolding around the dome of West Register House. It makes it look even more like a temple somewhere in Asia. It is a wonderful building, one of my favourite of the many landmarks in the city and easy to spot even when shrouded like this.
Lazy start to the day today for a change, then went round to the rectory to meet the painter. Back home Colin and I walked via the cycle track to Roseburn then Haymarket, we had a delicious bacon roll and cuppa in the Salt Yard which is a cafe on Dalry Road run by Gorgie, Dalry and Stenhouse churches. It's very friendly and is run by volunteers. It's Fair Trade too, with a small shop and selling freshly made food which is well priced and tasty. Do try it if you are in the area.
A quick trip to Lidl then walked to the West End to get the bus home again. You can tell the schools are back, the traffic is bad from around 3.30 onwards, what a difference.
Made a delicious paella for dinner.
Friday tomorrow and the visitors arrive from the four airts... or at least from two of them!
