This dear old man was out with his daughter enjoying a sausage sandwich at the new cafe in Highams Park. We were there for a cuppa at the end of our ride down to Wanstead Flats. 

We were preoccupied with monitoring the progress of acquaintances who are riding the Paris - Brest - Paris cycling event. The idea is to complete it within a predicted time limit e.g. 80 hours. That is an immense challenge and beyond my comprehension of what it must be like to do it.
