Nice weather for ducks

This morning I took communion to an elderly housebound member of our congregation. It's such a lovely experience and so nice to catch up and keep her involved in our goings on. Sadly she had difficulty hearing clearly today as she'd been to have her hearing aids checked and they'd decided to send them off to have some repairs and adjustments made. She'll be without them for two weeks or so she's been told! That seems a very long time to do without hearing.
I walked home and then Colin and I popped round to Ali's to do a bit of gardening. I got most of the way through murdering a rose bush when the heavens opened. It was one of those deluges where you feel like you've just done the water bucket challenge - soaked right through in about 2 minutes.
Back home we had an early dinner then it was off to a vestry meeting.
