Stooks in da Rig
Showers this morning, clearing to a sunny afternoon. Showers returned this evening.
A busy day working in the museum. There was a cruise ship in Lerwick, and they arrived early. There was tea and coffee to setup, and also setup for forthcoming events. I harvested some of my tatties, and had them for tea tonight, with haddock. Dash off to work in the pub, and finished early. Walkies with Sammy, before I get my feet up.
I tried a lunchtime walk, I didn't get far, the rain came in. I did manage to make my way to these stooks of corn. It's the time of year to start the harvest. Once cut, gather them in sheaves, building them up into stooks, and then into a skro in the yard on the croft. If you look closely near the centre of the photo, you'll spy a black cat. Must be a great place to catch some tasty mice :) Taken at South Voxter, Cunningsburgh.
