Baby Steps

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellows,

Caro is supposed to make walking part of her daily life. She's obviously not really been up to it until now, but today she decided to walk to the doctor.

It's not very far. Basically you just walk down the hill and turn left and you're there. But poor Caro was very wobbly by the time she arrived; much worse than she was travelling home on Friday.

"Well, I'm not on so many drugs now," she explained.

I think it is partially that. You also can't discount that she's really not eating very much food these days. She turned very pale and seemed very weak.

And for ALL THAT EFFORT, the doctor was pretty bloody useless. Caro asked her a few questions about when she should transition back on to medicine she was taking before the procedure.

"Well I don't really know," said the doctor. "I think that maybe... no, I don't know. You'd have to ask your surgeon. I don't really know."

Man. What was the point of that? I don't really know things! I could have told Caro that for nothing!

I got a taxi for Caro. We literally took it from the bottom of the hill to the top, and the taxi driver looked at us weird, but I was in no mood to justify.

Since then, Caro has been on the couch and is now feeling much better. We took one of the side cushions off the couch so Caro has more of a "bed" feeling when she's on it. Punky found the spare cushion right away, and has been sitting next to Caro all day.

We are going to have to keep up this walking malarkey but there's no point rushing it. Maybe tomorrow I will just chase her around the flat.

S.
