Chatting
Our last night in Wales and we spent a few hours chatting into the small hours, wrapped in blankets as it was freezing. The wind came in huge gusts and was quite scary at times but we braved it.
It's been a great weekend, away from work and a change to normal life. Sitting outside in the (cold) fresh air, opposite green hills with sheep dotted about, listening to them bleating into the early evening before they settled down to sleep, and then complete silence.
Made me realise how noisy life is back home and how nice silence can be.
The route back to the motorway was a long, winding, sometimes single track road with few services. This was fine until an urgent toilet stop was requested. I was eyeing up hedges at this point but then out of nowhere a cafe appeared. This could have been a filth pit but it would have had a loo at least.
It turned out to be the most perfect cafe I've ever been to. Spotless, friendly and massive slices of cake (see extra pic). Perfect way to start a long road trip.
