Holy Island Causeway

Today I caught the bus-train-bus to Holy Island, arriving before 10am and set off to run all the way to Kirk Yetholm along the long distance footpath known as St Cuthbert’s Way.

This is one of the shelters on the causeway from Holy Island for when would-be crossers get caught by the high tide and have to take refuge as their vehicles float away.

I reached Kirk Yetholm by 5pm, 49km later after battling into the teeth of a gale over the Cheviots.
