Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

2019 Thursday — Mr. Pickup

Same location as last night, different story.

He came with a roar faster than legal through the parking lot in his big old two-tone aqua-blue Ford pickup with dually wheels. I nodded to Mr. Fun and said, “There’s that truck!”

So we slowly wandered toward the boat ramp and dock. Mr. Pickup was already out of his vehicle with his dog roaming freely. They moved toward the foot bridge and onto the dock.

Once on the dock, the dog was looking for occupants to greet on any docked boat, but found few available.

Mr. Pickup whistled a couple times and the pup came running. Once the pup settled in the skiff, his master pulled the engine rope till the outboard started.

Without any fanfare, but a friendly wave to us, they motored to their home moored on the water. As he tied-up, we watched through the thin fog for the dog, and there he was on their sailboat.

They were in for the night.

From California’s Central Coast,
my story is from Morro Bay,
but we’re a few miles north in Cayucos,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
