2018 Wednesday — Carmel-By-the-Sea
The Carmel Bakery is a “have to” stop just for old time’s sake. Plus their cookies are really delicious. A crowd can be found inside because, as well as cookies and pastries, a selection of ice cream flavors to choose from for a delightful cone are tempting.
Carmel is also the place to see rare, seldom seen vehicles — that happened several times today.
The bulls-eye on our target this Wednesday was to see the sun as it set in front of the poet’s home; Robinson & Una Jeffers’ Tor House. They have both been dead for a long time, but the romance of their love story still tickles our fancy and we almost never stop in Carmel without doing at least a drive by and a sigh. This evening we soared as together we took-in this glorious moment, while standing quietly watching, seeing what Robin & Una saw. Those are the two frames on the bottom of the collage.
We have found this summer that the secret to enjoying Carmel is to walk the side streets and remove ourselves just slightly from the hustle & bustle of Ocean Avenue, which is in the heart of Carmel’s business district.
No we did not quench our Carmel desire, but we did wet our whistle as we sipped from the cup of summer 2018’s vacation moments. “Carmel, we want you to know we’ll be back again; hopefully soon.”
