Mount Torlesse With Cabbage Tree

This morning was brilliant. I took a quick trip up the road to look at the mountains. There was not as much snow as I expected, but they were nonetheless beautiful. Being so close to the mountains means that the lower slopes are hidden by the foothills, making the mountains appear lower than they do from further out on the Plains. In this position Otarama (see Extra) looks rather different from what is does from my place.

It was amazingly warm up there. I had to take off several layers of clothing I was wearing against the cold I expected.
