City Boy in a Country Setting

It is our annual family reunion (on Lisa's side) in Reed City, Michigan. Cousin Billy welcomes us into his log home, everybody brings a dish to pass, and we have lunch and dinner.

In the hopes of starting a new tradition, Lisa, Merrick and I spent the night in the downstairs "bunkhouse", instead of having to drive home in the dark.

In the left top corner is a glimpse of a mounted deer. Billy is a serious hunter, and his massive living room is filled with MANY mounted animals. 

Merrick wasn't real keen on feeding hay to the horses (that's his cousin Sophie with him), but he does like to jump down into the sand pit, and playing in what he calls "quicksand".

It was a fun day. I was the chicken-on-the-grill guy, and it turned out well.
