Storms from the A1

Left Edinburgh at 10.00am in the rain. Wet all the way to Mainsgill on the A66 where we stopped for an excellent Sunday roast

The rest of the journey was sun and storms with some pretty impressive cumulonimbus clouds raging around all the way to Kent where miraculously, the skies were clear. This storm was taken through the window of a fast moving car. There’s a raindrop visibly in the shot.

Only one glitch, a bit of a bump on M11 held us up for 20 minutes giving a driving time of 8 hours 20 minutes and an overall journey time of 10 hours 30 minutes. (Two hour lunch stop). always grateful for safe arrival when travelling such distances.
