Water meadow
A rainy Sunday which got off to a productive start by dumping the chest of drawers at Polmadie early. Decided to go to St Margaret’s since yoga was full and delighted to find that Maggie McTernan was preaching. (The entire team are great) Have now kind of committed to doing the last 100k of the Santiago Compostela in early May with Hf naturally. M did it the pilgrims way carrying her bag and trusting the limited information waymarkers, feel a bit less than virtuous about taking the comfort way. Really need to get a pair of waterproofs got soaked on this walk mainly to LIDL to check out the walking trousers for 9 quid, didn’t like them they looked uncomfortable and far too baggy. Theme of the day has really been thinking about not thinking and putting one foot in front of the other. Closing hymn was Sydney Carter’s one more step along the world I go. Also delighted to find the offertory hymn was my favourite- take my life and let it be consecrated Lord to thee, to the traditional Vaughan Williams music/tune.
Had a Victoria Wood moment during the epistle - Hebrews 11 at the phrase living in tents, the one about camping and failing to erect a tent, and the play on intense. Always makes me laugh.
And then the serious point about refugees not having a choice about leaving home.
Looking forward to dinner with Lorne and Magnus. I must let them know I really don’t like tuna.
