Windfall apples.
Currently post sandwich lunch having come home from Sunday morning at Birmingham Vineyard Church.
I was sitting next to someone today who had come for the first time.
We had a long conversation afterwards, during which she was telling us about her work for a charity in the city called “Restore” working with refugees and asylum seekers, a project of Birmingham Churches Together.

There are so many many needs everywhere these days that we can get compassion fatigue.
That is the world as it is.....instant news of all kinds.
The topic this morning in the penultimate series of talks being Faith and Compassion.
Whatever beliefs we hold Compassion is one we can all share out.
As I look at the garden there are windfall apples everywhere after the past two wild weather days.
It has not been cold just exceptionally windy with all the intense showers. A huge elm tree next door to our Medical Practice on the main road, has crashed down in the gales right across the garden of the house and blocked the owner’s drive. He cannot move his car, which thankfully wasn’t flattened, nor anyone else at the time.
Less windy today.
Beginning to feel and look more like autumn.....
