One of Mr thisistheone's gold severums is very poorly at the minute. The poor blighter has a sore looking circular wound on his/her head which has steadily got worse over the past few days. Fish disease books haven't been much help in determining the cause so tonight I decided to perform some tests on the water to see if I could discover any clues there. While Amonia and Nitrite where virtually non-existent, I did notice that the pH was more alkaline than neutral. So, I carried out a water change before adding some Stress Coat, Proper pH and some Melafix which I'm hoping will help to clear up the wound.
Fingers crossed!
