Wild strawberries and banana bread

Delighted to have rediscovered Angela Thirkel, laugh at out loud funny in the manner of Trollope and Barbara Pym. Her father came from Bute apparently and after her marriage the first born son was named after her husband’s lover, or former lover can’t recall. Quite a thing in the 1920s. As I write some rather delicious banana loaf is rising spectacularly well in the oven, cosied in beside some roasting duck legs. Hope it all tastes as good as it looks and smells. Friday night comfort food.
