White drama
I’m really proud of my clever cat. Yesterday, after dark, she made a real commotion to get me to look through one of the patio doors into the walled garden. She wanted to tell me that one of the hedgehogs has returned. Well done, Furbie.
Because it was forecast to be the last of the good days before the storms, I decided to revisit the Baddesley Clinton dahlias again.
It’s one month since my last visit, but it’s still rather early for the full glory of the display. Some of the blooms are lagging behind and the way they’ve carefully planted so that there is a coherence to the colour means that green patches don’t help. It should be September that’s the best month. (Extra)
I was surprised that there seemed to be only a few Meadow Browns, Green- veined whites and a solitary Small Tortoiseshell. Back home Peacocks and the Red Admiral were hanging around.
