August = Sweet Corn

Dear Diary,

I love this time of year.  The fresh veggies are wonderful.  I had my first tomato yesterday and then there is the sweet corn.  Gosh, it is such a treat.  I wait all year for it.  I have to cut it off the cob since I have a temporary crown on one of my front teeth so it isn't advisable for me to eat it on the cob.  This is my favorite variety, Butter and Sugar.  It reminded me of my Grandpa, he always cut the corn off the cob.  Going out today in search of some locally grown green beans and some summer squash.  Yum!
