I can swim. Yay!

Not the best photo in the world but it's the only one we've got of me in the water. And I can swim. Yay!

I went on a big long walk this morning. We walked for more than 8 miles which took almost 3 hours.

We left our flat and walked up to Braidburn Valley Park and that is where I found a part of the burn that was deep enough for me to have a swim. I just taught myself to swim. I wandered into a bit that was too deep to paddle in and I started swimming. Ann was very pleased with me because apparently swimming is an activity that will wear me out.

We then followed the burn through Colinton Mains and up to Dreghorn Woods and all the time I was zooming around and splishing and splashing and sploshing in the water.

From Dreghorn Woods we walked down to Colinton Village and then walked along the Waters of Leith to Slateford. I got to do more swimming in the Waters of Leith. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE swimming. I can't believe that it has taken me 8 months to learn to swim.

Once we got to Slateford we walked along the canal to Craiglockhart, then we walked past Craiglockhart Pond and through the woods to the back of the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, along the walkway and through the field, and then home.

Ann's fitbit told her we'd walked more than 8 miles but I probably did more than double that because I never stopped running.

…................And I've been asleep ever since. Ann went out for a couple of hours this afternoon and I didn't even think about 'chewing'. I just snoozed. When Ann came home she said I had to go out for a little 'wee walk'. I had a wee pretty quickly because I wanted to get back to snoozing. I can't even be bothered to eat my dinner. I'm far too tired.

Oh and if anyone is interested............................. I've gone more than a month without having any little accidents in the house so Ann has stopped recording all my toilet habits in my 'toileting book'. It's taken a long time is 6 months a long time? but Ann now actually thinks that I'm 'house-trained'. She's still not sure if I'm 'toileted trained'?! Ie, she would like me to 'wee' on command so that if we go to a friends house, or a cafe or pub she can tell me to 'go wee wees' so that she can be confident that I'm not going to have any little accidents in inappropriate places.

Oh well, ho hum, I guess I've learnt a lot in less than 6 months.
