The stairs

Today teh weather was not so cold but instead very windy (23m/s at the top), so all the main lifts were closed. I have season pass for the resort as it has co-operation agreement with resort I usually ski but not everyone had it, we decided to take a short day trip to the Pyhä-Luosto national park area with our skins etc.

After one and half hours of skiing and climbing we were at the top of Aittokuru, which is deep and steep natural couloir. The upper part was pretty sweet skiing but below we had some trouble finding safe passage to the bottom and the national park skiing trail going back to the resort area. The snowpack was dense having some layers. Despite of the few small cracks and "avalanches" we found our route and here we are taking the stairs to the resort area after skiing some time back home.

Despite not having such a epic skiing due to the weather, we managed to spent a nice day outside with friends. Success and good reason to take few beers after skiing and during sauna.. :)
