much more gratifying...
... i agree. in retrospect, it's not so much iowa i really wanted to escape than the job i've been busy with the past few days - neverending.
today topped it all with the 5a arrival to site, only to wait until the process finally started at about 11a. the hotel is within sight of the facility, so i was livid when my contact preferred we stay at the facility (where he had access to the secure internet connection, and i not) as opposed to returning the hotel until we were truly needed. of course, this is not the first time, but is always frustrating.
and with every job, there is that sense of elation when it is finally over, even if only temporarily. good work was done by all, and our efforts have truly been acknowledged - that always makes for a warm-fuzzy.
arrived chicago just as the snow has started to fall. got a hotel close to o'hare - far too tired to go out tonight, and have a 7a flight tomorrow anyway. so it's down to the lobby bar for a small beer and off to bed.
