UP THE GARDEN PATH

Went over to Morecambe for 10.00 am to pick Mum up for her Royal Visit to Grange ready to celebrate her birthday on Sunday.

On the way back to Grange we had a lovely meander.  Called in to Beetham Nurseries for a coffee and a browse.  Then went over the road into the village and went into the church, as I'd never been in there before.  There is a window in there which has small panes dating back to the 15th century - very faded now but to think of it being that old is amazing (I've put a photo of it in the extras).

Whilst there Mum and I lit a candle to my Dad, who would have been 90 today.  Still miss him soooo much, can't believe it's been 11 years since he left us - toooo soon.

Then it was still only 12:15 so we were going to go to Cafe Ambio at Lakeland Motor Museum, but when we got there the car park, plus the overflow were full and people waiting, so turned round and headed for Esthwaite Water.  One of my favourite places as it is always so peaceful and quiet.  Had a panini and cappuccino sat overlooking the lake (the second extra, the large window you can see is where we sat - wonderful to watch all the birdlife and fishermen on the lake).

Have to help Mum along the short path due to tree routes and her eyesight but she's amazing really considering she's 88.

The  eventually made it back home for 3.00 pm.  A pleasant day out.   Weather not too bad here, some sun, a few drops of rain but otherwise OK.  My heart and thoughts go out to all those affected by the awful rainfall yesterday, those in North Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, Gatwick areas for example.

This is the walkway leading to St Michael's and All Angels Church in Beetham and earlier in the year is a glorious sight - note to self to photograph it next year.

This is my entry for WIDE Wednesday as it was taken with wide angle lens.  The theme is Science and its impact on us.   I couldn't do much photography wise today on plastic or weather  BUT this is the science of Nature and Botany and they both have a massive impact on everyone.  Hope it fits the bill.

Many thanks to Steveng for hosting and giving us a good challenge.
