Montreal's Olympic Park

Montreal is the first (and last) Canadian city to have hosted the summer olympics, in 1976.  We went to visit the olympic park today, with its stadium that features the world's tallest inclined tower (see extra).  The main pic is a couple of kids looking on to the olympic swimming pool and diving platforms.

It was an interesting visit -- even more so when the funicular car we rode (you can see it on the extra) to the top of the tower came to an abrupt stop (as in: everyone was thrown against the panoramic window) about 100 yards from the bottom! No AC for 15mns and no info on what was going on.  Needless to say, it was a tad uncomfortable.  25mns later, we were back with feet on the ground.  Whew!  Hoping for a less eventful day tomorrow :)
