Fascination

We did a trip to Orivesi today. First we visited the Art Centre Purnu which is located on the shore of Längelmävesi lake. Purnu organises summer exhibitions with changing themes and Finnish modern artists. Exhibition activity was started by the founder of the art center, sculptor Aimo Tukiainen (1917-1996), who is one of the most significant modern Finnish sculptors. This years' exhibition name is Fascination. In the picture is one of Tukiainen's sculptures. 
I especially liked works of Lauri Laine, Kalle Lampela and BeritTalpsepp-Jaanisoo.

Then we went to see charming Hörtsänä Arboretum. It was founded in 1909 by an enthusiastic gardener Hugo Hörtsänä. There are two areas: a forest with many different kind of tree species and a flower park.
