Closing Time
Stepping out the train station at Brighton at 16:47 and there’s the sea down at the bottom of the road. And bright sunshine everywhere. Music spilling out of pubs as people sit at tables on the pavement as we make our way down to the Hotel - some trendy place down on Jubilee Street.
So, time for a stroll around as I show the SK some old favourite haunts, starting with the Cricketers Arms, the first pub I visited when I moved down here in ‘81. Sadly, the kitchen in the Basketmakers had closed by the time we rolled in there, so we ate down beside the Hotel and strolled later to the Heart & Hand with its rather terrific jukebox. But all things must come to an end.
