The Rose Bowl Parade

A trivia question to start. How many pounds does a gallon of water, or a gallon of tea weigh? (Answer later.)

All three of my kids first jobs were at a local grocery store named Vg's. I even worked there in the late 60's. That's how old it is.

I swear Merrick is priming himself to make that his first job, too. He drags 2-liter bottles out of my den, and canned goods out of our pantry. He then stacks them up on the piano...returns them to the den...then starts over.

He was busily stocking the "shelves" when the Rose Bowl Parade came on. He discovered that he really liked it. He kept saying 'Wow!" He got really excited when the float from the movie Cars came on...especially the truck named Tow Mater.

Looking closer...he's working over the box of dog bones. Maybe a veterinarian? Plus...he's shaking a bottle of vitamins. Perhaps a pharmacist? Time will tell.

I asked the cute stock boy the same question I asked you. How many lbs. in that gallon of tea? He answered "8 pounds Grandpa." By golly...he's right.
