Female Common blue
I spent a truely enjoyable hour in my favourite meadow this afternoon. It was full of butterflies and so much fun.
Among the highlights was this beautiful female common blue, she is extra special as they are usually muddy brown with a few blue scales by the body but this one is the less common blue form, which I am sure you will agree is stunning!
I have added a shot of a Chalkhill blue on the rare and interesting Round-headed rampion in my extras
